Tampon, yes. Pad or nothing, heck no! It doesn't seem like the pool effects the tampon at all, and the others might effect the pool :/ gross.

There is nothing you can do when not on your period that you cannot do on your period – your period does not and should not stop you from doing anything at all.
You can use tampons for swimming however menstrual cups are a far better idea because tampons are very bad for your vaginal health where as menstrual cups don't have any health risks associated. Tampons are also prone to leaking where as menstrual cups can be left in for up to twelve hours and will not soak up pool water that could cause leaking.

yea wearing a tampon while swimming is fine just remember:
1) If you will b swimming for a prolonged period of time, you should make sure that you change your tampon after 4-5 hrs.
2) make sure that the tampon is inserted properly or discharge will begin to leak through and become visible in the water......

Of course you can. You can just pop in a tampon and throw on your bathing suit and not have to worry about it. I know plenty of people who have done that and they didn't see any blood why they were swimming. Nobody will even know that you have your period.
