I am a really tiny woman (only 5'1 and weigh 83 lbs-- 85 if you count the bloating of my stimach) I don't understand why I always have horrible cramps. I have skipped classes in the past and called in to work sick. My periods last for almost a solid week, and the pain lasts for at least 5 days. (and my cycle itself is long- over 31 days) Today I had the most unexpected pain in my stomach, and asprin did not work. I felt like i was going to be sick. I am allergic to ibuprofin, and I try Midol, but nothing seems to completely ease the pain. I was wondering if something could be wrong...how could my cycle and mentruation be so long and painful for someone my size?
Also, I hear teas are good to consume to ease the pain...any suggestions on which ones are best? Thankss!!

Could be endometriosis. I have it and it's horrific. Teas are good but try and stay away from sugar prior to and during your period because it worsens your cramps. sweeten your tea with honey or nothing at all. Also, with you being so thin, you should probably make sure you are getting the right nutrients in your body because a bad diet (food groups) can cause terrible cramps too. I have suffered from bad cramps for many years and have tried lots of remedies but the best thing for me has been little to no sugar and lots of heat (heating pads, hot tea, hot bath, hot soup). Nothing will completely alleviate your pain but these things should make it better. Hope you feel better.

My cramps are the same way!! I cry and want to kill when I am on my period. No pills help me either. I also last a full week! Anyways go to a doctor and get on birth control, it will ease the cramps, and regulate your period...just talk to the doctor about your exact symptoms. Yes, this has been going on with me since the age of 13 and I weighed then at 70 pounds, now I'm 16 and weigh 125. Every woman goes through it, and really their isn't anything that will totally ease the pain, but definitely get on birth control, it will help!!

( Use a HOT heating pad, and lay down until then!)

Go to dr and have him check you out. You may have endometriosis. I get horrible cramps, too. Take a couple of Aleve and lie down for about an hour. Hope u feel better.

please see your doctor, sounds like something could be wrong, so much gets overlooked and you shouldn't wait, have as many tests. periods are painful, but i believe yours is beyond normal. blood tests and ultra-sounds, and make sure that you bring a complete record of your cycle and rate the pain each day and especially the flow, slow-fast, heavy to light.
