Yes, Snape is a Slytherin. Slytherin house definitely except half-bloods. Tom Riddle was a half blood. Slytherin house accepts students with cunning, ambition and seemingly ambiguous morals.

Actually, Slytherin will take in anyone who comes from a good family or did something famous, like Harry Potter was going to be in Slytherin but he's only half pure-blood because his mother is muggle born. Like, Snape his mother is a pure blood and she was like a Quidditch coach and she was really great and so they assumed that she would only marry the best so they assumed Snape was a pureblood. It applies to the Weasleys, who are "blood traitors" like Harry, because they didn't do anything great. They're rather poor, which sadly Slytherin sees as impure and bad. Same with Voldemort. He's a blood traitor, but he's handsome, talented, and the heir of Slytherin. Slytherin just assumes, in it's stupidity, that if you're great you have to be a pureblood.

Yes, Snape was a Slytherin. But he is a half-blood. No, the Slytherin house doesn't accept only pureblood. Voldemort was put in Slytherin and he is only a half-blood too. And the sorting hat thought about putting Harry in Slytherin but put him in Gryffindor instead.

i would assume he was, otherwise it wouldn't make sense that he was the head of slytherin house...but how can slytherin only accept pure bloods if the sorting hat wanted to put harry in slytherin, when he's only a half blood? i thought salazar slytherin wanted only pure bloods at hogwarts but gryfindor, hufflepuff and ravenclaw didn't want that so slytherin left hogwarts and the slytherin house was the same as the rest of the houses...thats just how i understood it, i guess.

Many times they kept the fact that they weren't pure blood hidden. Besides, Voldemort was the heir of Slytherin and in the Slytherin house, yet his dad was a muggle! There is a conversation in one of the books where it they say that there aren't many pure bloods left and most of them are just lying about the relatives they have that are muggles or squibs.

Not really. Harry was going to be sorted into Slithering for his talents. I bet Snape went through the whole thing too. His evil personality, interest in the dark arts, talents, and the possible faith in Voldemort. The Slithering house can make an exception once in a while.
