The horror film has had a resurgence in the 90s with 'A nightmare on elm street: the new nightmare', regarded as the first of these films that are not spoofs but are full of clever self references and comedy. Scream and I know what you did last summer followed, as well as reworkings of old W H Castle films such as House on Haunted Hill (superb) and House of Wax (very good).
The original A Nightmare on Elm Street is the scariest film I have seen and it is very well done. The Alien films are a horror/sci-fi hybrid with very strong design from Giger.
Out of these, I have a particular fondness for the original Scream movie.

I think one of my favourite movie would be Saw. If that is a horror movie? Or would it be a thriller? Why do I always end up answering questions with more questions?

I do love horror films but do not usually get bothered by them as sometimes I find them funny but I did see Wolf Creek the other day and it was really good I actually had to look away in parts and its also based on a true story !!!

I looooooooooooove horror movies! Especially the ones were people just sit there and get killed because they are too stupid to try to run! I really like that movie war of the worlds, I thought it was kinda funny how people just like got zapped in half!

Hi, i love horror films my i cant pick a favourie though as they are mostly all the same, I do like House Of Wax, as Chad Michael Murray is gorgeous and i thought the film was good. Also Poltergeist is good. IT the clown was really creepy though.

I LOVE horror movies! They're suspenseful and sometimes gory! They're awesome. I have a lot of favorites. Here are a few:
Wrong Turn (Yeah I know it's old)
House of Wax
Texas Chainsaw Massacre(The newest one)
Scream one, two and three
I know What you did last summer
I still know what you did last summer
A lot of them are old, but they're still good.
