Let's see. US involvement in WW2 lasted just under 4 years. From December 1941 to August 1945. The current Iraq has not gone on for 8 years, so that number is wrong.

The reason that WW2 was so effective is that there was an identifiable enemy, who wore uniforms and had an established command structure. The middle east conflict is a skirmish battle, much more like Vietnam than WW2.

Are you aware that Pearl Harbor was
December 7, 1941 Peace with Japan on Aug. 14 1945. Length of war 3yrs. 8mos. So not twice as long more money ,true. Thousands more died in WWII than have died in Iraq. I think the reason we were more effective is that everyone knew this was vital and even if someone disagreed they would not have denigrated the rest of the people which in essence gives hope and help to the enemy.

Totally different kind of war back then, yes the services were segregated but their were black fighting men, they were airmen and dam good at what they did. The Vietnam war also had black soldiers that fought, but the politicians ran the war instead of the Generals, and that spells disaster. Gorilla war fair is very different and the people now expect Jack in the Box wars now, in and out.
