VW gives you what is called "one every two", which simply means you can get a new phone every two years which is in line with your two year contract. When you are eligible for the $100 credit for a new phone, you can purchase a phone at the promotional price. When you walk into a store look at the label under the phone, it will normally have two prices. One price (larger font) is the lower price, which is the promotional price, for new customers and those eligible to redeem the credit. Another price (smaller font) is the higher price, which is the normal price of the phone. Lets say during your two year contract you break your phone and need a new one and don't have the credit, then you have to pay the normal price for the phone (higher one) to replace it if you have no insurance. Now to your question, when you redeem your $100 credit on a new phone, lets say the RAZOR, where the current promotional price is $180, you pay only $80 out of pocket for it. Remember when you redeem your credit, you will be extending your contract the day you get the new phone by most likely another two years. So before you redeem the credit, make sure you want to stay with Verizon. The $100 credit is just a way of making you stay with them.
I hope this helps.

I have been with verizon for about 10 years now. You get 100 toward an upgrade, and that's immediate. (usually requires a two year contract though) So if the phone you want is 150, they should charge you only 100. Ask your sales associate when you go in the store.

You can upgrade your phone with a new contract, but, instead of a two year deal, it is only one. I had them, and after 2 years, I decided to go with my very first carrier, T-Mobile. And, I got a great deal for it. I actually am paying about $70 a month for 1500 minutes, free nights and weekends, insurance for a nice Samsung camera phone. This is the best plan ever because I do not have a land line phone and this works out well for me.
Check out the deal Verizon is going to give you. if it is not up to par, check out T-Mobile and see if you like their deal.

IT ONLY MEANS THAT U GET A NEW PHONE WITH A NEW CONTRACT AT THE PRICE THAT ANY NEW CUSTOMER WOULD....FOR EXAMPLE IF U DECIDED TO CHANGE UR PHONE B4 THE TWO YEARS U WOULD HAVE TO PAY RETAIL PRICE (CHEAPEST PHONE AT RETAIL PRICE IVE SEEN IS ABOUT TWO SOMETHING) BUT SINCE U RENEWING U GET A DISCOUNT ON IT WHICH IS USUALLY ABOUT HALF OR A LIL LESS LIKE THE RAZOR RETAIL PRICE IS 300 DOLLARS N WITH A TWO YEAR CONTRACT ITS ABOUT 150 MINUS REBATE STUFF LIKE THAT N U KNOW WHY?? WELL BECAUSE THEY MAKE MONEY OF UR NEW CONTRACT SO THAT MAKES UP FOR THE LOST ON THE PHONE OR THE DISCOUNT...SO IF U NOT HAPPY WITH UR CARRIER THAN CHANGE IT U CAN GET A CHEAP PHONE WITH ANY CARRIER SINCE U MAKING A NEW CONTRACT.

You get a discount. I think the discount is usually $100 a year. So you could probably get around $200 towards a new phone.

you get a discounted price. I think it's $100. I got my new one in January web ready. You can update it about 1 month earlier than your plan is over.

you will get a discount on the new phone depending on the plan you pick. Remember, they give a new phone for extending/renewing a contract.

I'm in the same boat. They left a message saying to call them about upgrades. I'm probably going to do that later. I'll be interested to see what deals they are offering everyone.
