If I want to bar any number I don't have stored in my phonebook from calling me, but so that it rings once and then cuts off, how would I do this? My friend has all her numbers barred so no-one can call her from any number that she doesn't know, but if you call her from "private number" it rings through (more than one ring, which is what happens if you call her from any other number). Can anyone help me with this please?

depends which phone you are using. Go to call barring inyour phone, and bar all calls, except the ones in your phone book. I am not tooo sure the private number thing will work, as it depends on which phone you are using. Try and see. I will follow up on your question if you add details of the model of your cell phone, i can help you futher.

Contact your wireless company. That's what I did. There's also a National Do Not Call List for sales calls.
