"Don't let anybody make you think God choose America as his divine messianic force to be a sort of policeman of the whole world. God has a way of standing before the nations with justice and it seems I can hear God saying to America "you are too arrogant, and if you don't change your ways, I will rise up and break the backbone of your power, and I will place it in the hands of a nation that doesn't even know my name. Be still and know that I'm God." by DR.King
They are not going to feel anything because God is the judge he will judge America for all of their crimes that's why America has went unpunished to this day. Because judgment is coming. He will find terrorist, rapist, robbery, lairs and the 6 things that the Lord hates and 7 are a abomination unto him. It obvious they can not judge their self. See people look at this as the past and they did not do it. But they fail to realize that it was Americas evil doings. It just so happens that most of the people who committed these crimes happen to be white.
All the sins of Egypt came back unto the people who had nothing to do with it because God was judging this nation.
"A sword will come against Egypt, and anguish will come upon Cush. When the slain fall in Egypt, her wealth will be carried away and her foundations torn down."
" 'The allies of Egypt will fall and her proud strength will fail. From Migdol to Aswan they will fall by the sword within her, declares the Sovereign LORD"
'They will be desolate among desolate lands, and their cities will lie among ruined cities. Then they will know that I am the LORD,
when I set fire to Egypt and all her helpers are destoryed."
"the most ruthless of nations will be brought in to destroy the land. They will draw their swords against Egypt and fill the land with the slain."
All this happen because Egypt did not repent, America will not repent either so likewise judgment is coming. Look at the world that hates them. Repent before it's to late.

Lets see the big influx of immigrants in America was post civil war circa 1900. Are you talking about what German and Irish immigrants did to black people back in Europe. Or is this some weird self gratification thing because you are unemployed and to lazy to get out and look for a job.
Most of America never saw a Indian before Buffalo Bill took his Wild West Show to the East Coast.

Moives don't count, as the truth can be altered.
If you believed everything in the pictures, Native American were blood-thirsty savages who killed and raped and murdered without provocation.
The truth is far more complex than that.
I read what people wrote down and we treated the Native Americans (and in some instances, still do) in a shameful manner.
We cannot go into the past to change what has been done.
We are supposed to learn from history so we do not repeat it, probably one of the reasons we flunk History all the time.

Personally speaking (as far back as I can go) my ancestors didn't do anything to African or Native Americans. Never owned slaves, never ventured very far past the Mississippi.
What do I think of the subjugation imposed on these people by the US government? The slave trade was (abhorrently) accepted practice...by Africans and non-Africans alike. (do some research and you might be surprised who was capturing and selling them into slavery in the first place..... hint: they weren't white.) By the time of the Civil War, importation of new slaves had already been banned in the US, and the practice itself was dying out. It does sadden me to learn about most people's ignorance back then. Even among "enlightened" and educated people, Africans were considered "sub-human", something that is extremely ignorant.
The treatment of Native Americans is different. That was a crime committed by the US government. There was no ignorance or "common practice" involved here. It was with malace and forethought. Treaty after treaty was broken and forgotten. The whole culture wipe out in the name of manifest destiny, and the lust to find new wealth. Women, children, and the elderly slaughtered in brutal camp raids. Their main source of survival used for "target practice" by train passengers until they were almost wiped out as well. Many countries have tried to wipe out the existence of a culture, but only the US has practically succeeded.

If you check your history, you would want to include hispanics in what they also did to American Indians. The Spanish were quite devastating to American Indians, also.
I am Irish and every time I see a movie or picture of an Englishman, I have no animosity. Have you ever read what England did to the Irish? They starved them, raped their women, stole their property...and the list goes on and on. This went on for years..maybe longer than blacks were slaves in north america.
Forgiveness I a wonderful thing.

Not MY ancestors. Since my ancestors were poor southern Italians who came to this country just before and after WW2, they had nothing to do with what was done to blacks or Indians. (or Jews or Irish, for that matter).
I was raised in a household that was vociferously and vehemently against racism or bigotry of any sort, because of the ethnic bigotry my parents had suffered.
As for the past history of America - it is full of the same glories and failures, proud moments and shameful moments as every other country in the world. It is history, unchangeable.

The history of slavery is sad, and what was done to Native Americans is sad, but it is just that, history. Is your question, do I feel any guilt over it? No, absolutely not, this was done before my time on earth and I am only accountable for what I do. In addition, I think it is inappropriate to try to make anyone feel guilty over it. I do not believe in reparations at all in any form, nor do I believe that I, or anyone else owes an apology, and I further resent the idea that anyone would apologize on my behalf. I hope this answers your question, thank you.

I am a black women and personality I think most white people don't realize black history or any other minor history, if you try and learn the history of each cultural and include your cultural mistakes you will know how to deal with minor cultures in America. Because we are all connected so it wouldn't hurt to hear it. Beside the history of each minor cultural is very interesting, you might like it,and you might hear something you never knew before. Because if don't know are past we won't know where to go in are future.

About the same as Italians feel when they see movies and pictures of what the Roman Empire did to the Ancient Britons, I suppose.

It actually makes me proud to be an american. Not the slavery or the killing but at no other time in history have the people in power looked back at the horrible things they have done and said we are sorry and let us prove it by giving you a share in what can be.
This has only happened before by a violent overthrow of the ones in power.
