i have a friend that cannot get over her abortion... she blames herself, and blames her boyfriend, and it COMPLETELY affected every aspect in her life. family, friends, her confidence in herself, her relationship w/ her bf. has somewhat suicidal tendencies.. is there any way she can accept her abortion and move on? she doesn't seem to want to go to a counselor, but she is fairly open when talking w/ me, and listens to my advice (doesn't follow it, but listens.. =T)..what can i say, how can i encourage her?

A very good friend of mine made that choice years ago and atelast 10 yrs later she regrets it but has no but choice to move on. We have to learn to cope with all the choice's we make for ourselves. You are being a great friend with listening to her because sometimes that is all someone needs to let them know that someone still cares and isn't judging her for her mistake. For whatever reason she made this choice hopefully it was for the better. Now she can look forward and see what she can change so when this does happen she will be ready for it. She can handle what life has thrown at her. Life is hard and full of choice's we pick the path we go down. She needs to pick which path she wants.....she needs to move on. Maybe finding a support group for her will help. Just tell her you have some where, where you would like to take her and just show up there.

i think u ought to tell her very tactfully that she isnt really a strong person YET(come on...i know the situation's serious but she shouldnt be breaking down tht hard....sorry..no offense)and being a mother requires a lot of responsibility and that there's a lot of time in the future for that and that u respect her for haing known this subconsciously and want her to make an effort to bring it into her conscious now....
hope this helps...
and yeah...u might want to tell her...u r one awesome friend :D
good luck...
