all you people saying get an education ,get a better job if you can't handle these gas prices, I have a question for you , who are you proposing do these low wage jobs ? someone has to do them , someone has to run the register at the grocery store, the convenient stores , the fast food places , your theme park attendants and operators, your customer service reps that you can call day or night when you have a complaint about your service for something, your mall employees, your movie theater staff, I could go on and on but this list is to numerous, SOME ONE has to do these jobs and in turn these people deserve to make a decent living, but I guess your answer to that would be to let the immigrants have these jobs right. And for the person who suggests public transportation, there isn't enough hours in the day already to get things done and you want people to use a form of transportation that will take them at least twice as long to get to and from where they are going, I had my first apartment in the 70's I made $89.00 a week and with that $89.00 a week I was able to pay my bills by groceries and still had money left over for entertainment,,,,, a young adult can not even begin to think about doing that today because the pay scale and the cost of living are so unbalanced that it's sickening, and what's even worse is the raises that our so called representatives have been giving themselves amount to more then what these people make in a year, but guess who's pocket they are taking that money out of in order to get their pay and raises , we the tax payer,,,, and that includes the minimum wage worker who does not even make enough to live on. It's time that we as American people stand up and say enough is enough and take back our country from these lying thieving politician and corporate America

You cant. Thats why alot of citizens are lobbying for a "living wage", typically in the $10-12 range.

Or you could live 10-15 to a house and send 4-5 people out to work to support the household.

Well, invest, seeking a better paying job, educate, professional training. Buy a monthly bus/light rail pass and walk if you don't seek to improve lifestyle and career advancements. Increasing the minimum wage is not the answer it just affects everyone else and drives prices up even hight to compensate. Best wishes.

Yes, it's fair and possible. There are many choices in life. Choose to get further education, choose to look for a better job, choose to live closer to work, choose to carpool, choose to move somewhere with a lower cost of living, etc.
