IMO no monkey, lion or other wild animal is an appropriate pet for human society. It is cruelty to subject them to our environment.
Watch the animal cop shows on Animal Planet, particular those in Houston and Florida. It should give a better perspective on wildlife.
It is not cute or appropriate to make a pet of an animal and causing suffering because you want an "exotic" pet. Cats and dogs have been domesticated and part of human society for thousands of years.
I would not even want to keep a caged bird.
