Beatles! In the sixties The Beatles would do something and the next year the Stones would try to replicate it. Musically The Beatles are a lot better too.

The Beatles. The Stones have had some great tunes and they have great attitude and style but all the hits are essentially similar songs. The Beatles, particularly John Lennon, created whole worlds that inspired later bands such as Pink Floyd and all sorts of other artists and thinkers and they never had to resort to cheap tactics to get attention.

The Stones definitely because they we naughty and they came up with cool tunes. The Beatles had one great tune "Tomorrow never knows". But The Stones had more, style and had more tunes like Sympathy for the Devil and Mick Jagger was well quite when he was younger.
