I've had my nose pierced and it didn't hurt quite as bad as I imagined it would. There was a definite pricking sensation and my eyes watered up, but it wasn't as painful as getting my navel pierced. There was no blood at all, and if you try not to touch it too much in the beginning it heals fast enough. I didn't change my original nose-ring for a couple of months, and when i did it was no problem at all. Good Luck!
Also, try getting a stud as your original nose-piercing, not a ring, as studs are less likely to get caught in towels, clothes, etc!

I got mine pierced when I was 17, I'm 23 now. It hurts more than your ears because its all cartilage in your nose, but its fine after. Just keep it clean. You can't get blood poisening unless you get pierced in an unsafe place (i.e. dirty needles). Also, get pierced with a needle, not a gun. And make sure you get cleaning solution, get pierced with either a gold or stainless steel ring/stud and it should be on the left side of your nose... According to Indians, they've had their noses pierced for centuries.

yes, i got mine done at 13 years old in 1988! yes, definately the first at my high school back then. I had it done for $ 5.00 with a piercing gun! I even peirced my best friends nose with a needle and an ice cube and towel, ( anyone can do that, but its a matter of keeping it sterile). They only do it with a needle now - NO it doesn't hurt that much, just like you ears - one initial OUCH, watery eyes and sore for a few dayz - BUT you must keep it clean inside and out (that means at least 2 to 3 x a day, alcohol & hydrogen peroxide with a q-tip inside and out) and let it heal with the same stud, twisting it the first month and then changing it out frequently after that to heal properly - BE 4 WARNED - you let it heal - and wear it for a few years - IT will be a hole in your nose 4 life - that means your career in the future - you may have to take it out during work and put back in after - you will have a somewhat unoticeable hole (so tiny) in your nose but with a bit of makeup (foundation) its pretty much hidden like a pimple or freckle you would disguise... I am 32 next month and i still have a hole in my nose even after sometimes months and up to a year not wearing a stud. Good Luck and
Rebel :)... my parents just said, "That's dumb" but other than that I was lucky enough to have the freedom to do what I felt and I did it because I wanted and goes to show I still sport a pretty diamond stud when going out on the weekends and such - some people stigmatize you so be careful - it will alter the way others percieve you - and they may make assumption of what you are like or do..

I got mine pierced last year. It actually didn't hurt that much...just a little pinch (a lot less painful than your ears). Mine was a little red for the first few days, but then it was fine after that. When they do it, the only part I didn't care much for was when they put the jewelry in, because they have to bend the back of the jewelry, and the needle is still in place...after that, it was just fine!!

I had a friend that got her nose pierced. It didn't hurt at all...she says. I watched and I think it hurt. You can only get medically harmed if the place you go to isn't sterile. If they use all the right equipment and stuff...it should be fine. Also a word of warning: after the initial time period is up and you change the stud...careful when you sneeze. My friend sneezed once and her stud in her nose fell out.

Ive had my nose pierced for about 4 years now. i also have my tongue and belly button pierced. the belly button was the worst, then my tongue, then my nose. just like getting your ears pierced. probably not even as painful. and those who keep saying its out of style - wrong. putting hoops or attachments from your nose to your ear or nipple ring is out of style! if you have the right nose for it, do it. i absolutely love mine, and my face doesnt look right without anymore! remember to keep it clean, dont keep it out for more than a day, and have it pierced somewhere safe. smalls studs with the ball back piece are best otherwise your ring cold fall out too easily. really, painless. good luck and enjoy!
P.S. all shops pierce differently, so ask how its done before you commit. some ways are more painful than others.

i have had mine pierced for over a year and a half. i thought it was going to be a lot more painful than it was. i had my bellybutton pierced when i was 15 or so.. which was 100x more painful than my nose ring i got when i was 20. my eyes didn't even water when they pierced it. make sure you go to a reputable place to get it pierced so that you know everything is sanitary and ya wont get sick. make sure to follow their directions so it wont get infected. one bad thing-- when you get sick (a cold or strep or anything) your nose piercing will have a little flare up sometimes.. it can get red and look irritated.. just clean it and it goes away in a couple days.. it just sucks that its on your face- ya cant hide it! i like my nosering still.. i dont regret it at all.. especially since it didnt hurt much. i was so nervous, expecting immense pain, but it wasnt bad at all. nothing compared to an industrial piercing or a belly button one..

Let me tell you something. I got mine pierced with along with a friend on the same day. It hurt but not horribly bad. The bad thing about it is that for 2 days afterward neither one of us could walk a straight line. Being in your nose, it somehow knocks off your ability to stand or bend down. Everytime we stood or our heads went farther down than our shoulders we would start to pass out. No kidding. Mine came out that day. She lasted but stlil gets the light headed feeling sometimes.
