I don't exactly have an absolute favorite, as it's usually extremely hard to pick, but I'll name two of them: Seven Samurai by Akira Kurosawa, (heh, Toshiro Mifune is a very good actor in my opinion) and The Great Escape by someone (can't remember the director).

And then also I like a few anime-based movies too, like Spirited Away, and Cowboy Bebop: The Movie.

Alfred Hitchcock has some really good movies too, and then Stanley Kubrick and... well I'm not gonna go any further about this.

Get my point? It's hard to choose the very best movie.

My favorite movie would have to be 'Always' with Richard Dreyfuss and Holly Hunter. It had everything. It was funny, sad, mysterious, and dramatic. The storyline was interesting and the character development was truly amazing.

"The Iron Giant" it's a cartoon but very well written and has a subtle message that is anti-government and anti-religion. A very good study in modern government paranoia and stupidity.
