A TV show about ten years ago I think, (in UK) about some people who were in a train crash in a tunnel, and when they woke up and made their way out it was 50 years later and mankind had basically been wiped out, but they hadnt aged at all, and they were the only survivors?? WHAT WAS IT CALLED!!!!

THE LAST TRAIN!!! That was it! I just looked it up, and there was a series before that along the same lines in the 70's. but it was this one that I was after!

I remember The Last Train :-)
One of the better attempts to a UK sci-fi show. The train crash - and general global destruction - was caused by a Meteor hitting the Earth.
The only reason why the people in this section of the train was because a woman - who worked for a secret branch of the Government - was carrying a canister of stuff that caused Cryo-Freezing which allowed Humans to sleep in Deep-Freeze and wake-up years later like nothing happened.
Apparently, by the time Earth Scientists discovered the Meteor moving towards the Earth, the bugger was far too big and far too close for proper plans to be made to save the entire World (or at least British) population. Instead, a small and secret "post-Meteor Survivors" colony was set up and this woman with the canister was catching the train to take her to the secret base.
But the Meteor crashed, messed the train up, burst the canister and the Cryo-Freeze stuff preserved everyone until it wore-off and they all woke-up :-)
It was really gritty stuff and that's what impressed me :-)

Yep it was on ITV and it was called The Train.
IMDB will help on this one.
One of the passengers was carrying a canister of freezing agent and was trying to get to a secret location. The train crashed in a tunnel and the canister was breached freezing the occupents in the immediate locale. They wake up thinking the train has just crashed not knowing that many years have elapsed and civilization has collapsed arond them. One of the guys from the Full Monty was in it.

It was called the Last Train. They were cryogenically frozen by some barmy scientist woman in the train when a meteorite hit the earth or something like that. It was a one off series as I recall. The Sci-Fi channel on sky have been known to show it periodically.

sounds familiar, did they end up trying to work their way north to a power station where other survivors were supposed to be? If it was then I think it was called The Last Train (1999) and is either currently or has recently been shown on Sci Fi channel on sky.

I think that this was called survivors as well.
The title showed a bottle containing a virus being dropped in an airport I think, starting the worldwide epidemic.

hmmm i remember watching something like that but mine was a kids show with three characters called morris borris and dorris....maybe not the one you're after LOL!
