it's of lake tahoe and it's right behind a great big beautiful waterfall, it's weird everyone wqas looking at the waterfall, but i turned my head and found what i thought was much more intense and beautiful, it's funny how people can miss something right infront of them...

if it's not your type of photo, just say so, but take the time to actually look at the shade, textures and style.

i've never taken a photography class, and i'm a teenager, will you rate my skills and reasons for taking this picture 1-5 please?

Thanks!!

and btw i didn't edot it, or change the color etc, it's the raw picture.

yakayakayaka1234, i have a digital camera and there is a setting where you can take pictures in black and white...i thought it needed to be in black and white to feel the true meaning

I really enjoyed it. for the people who said it was just a dead tree, give yourselves a medal, OF COURSE IT IS. The subject of a picture often doesn't dictate the style and feel of the picture. I think it is very beautiful. You should take some photography classes and hone that obvious skill you have!

I'm a very artistic and creative person and I LOVE how you centered the photo, so the tree was a little off center. That's awesome, whether it was intentional or not. Because of how the tree looks, you look at all the textures, etc... The vertical tree against the pathway going eventually to the left in the picture gives it real depth. I think it has more of an effect on a person if it's black and white. I also LOVE how you didn't concentrate on the sky as much as most people would've done. You concentrated on the big picture with the extremely minuscule details. The way a person views a picture depends on their personality. Do they like to know what's going to happen before the first step is taken or do they just go with the flow and enjoy life and living? By the way, I think it's great that the picture is cropped. It makes people fill in what they think the rest looks like with their minds and really, it makes you think about LIFE and our differing paths. If you would've shown the entire tree, you wouldn't have gotten such a close up of the rocks, the textures, and the pathway. You would've gotten way too much sky. Keep the people in the picture. It looks more like reality rather than a regular picture where everything is set (lighting, etc.) I'm being a little harsh on you yet again.

YOUR RATING!!! - 4.4

It is an excellent picture on many levels, from scenery, provocative to the imagination, you have the tree there as the main subject but so much else is going on in the background. Something worth framing :)

I would give you an A ..... 5 out of 5

Its really an eye capturing picture taken with great precision...and it does capture the beauty of the tree and the rocks..but i would say the color picture would have more effects since its a picture of the nature and color is the most important attraction of nature...other than that its a great picture :D

I have to say it's a 8 or a 9. I like how you capured the senery on the tree and rocks . But most of all I like it because it's black and white . It looks like it can be in art show . Good job . Keep on taking pictures.

The trees in the background cloud the principal subject. I would have tried to lose focus on the background to sharpen the principal interest. Also, I would have stepped back, it's a beautiful tree and its a shame that the top is cropped. Nice subject though.

That's a wonderful picture, and I have quite a bit of photography experience! 5/5.

Here's a question, though: Are you fibbing about the color being as the camera captured it?? Hmmmm???

I really like your picture. Do you enjoy art? Sounds like you know what you are talking about. Take a photography/art class because you have natural talent. 5/5

I think it's great. The contrast is very nice although it is a bit too bright (rocks, tree). A little bit of photoshop can fix that easily.

The rock in the bottom left corner bothers me =\.
