Guys have been not getting circumcised for a lot longer than they've been getting it done.

At any rate, it's just another thing to clean. Women clean their plumbing, men clean theirs too.

EDIT: And to clarify, there are actually health benefits to not being circumcised. The foreskin produces a substance called smegma (women produce this as well) that is a detergent, killing bacteria that otherwise could live on the glans. Smegma is also a lubricant that keeps the penis healthy.

Only in some cases, like with the HIV virus, does the presence of a foreskin actually create a potential health problem.

Actually, men have been having circumsision done for much longer than you might think. And it is a very good idea, since it prevents infection and inflamation, which as I'm sure you can imagine, will cause a lot of discomfort for a male. The best time to get it done is within a few days of birth, otherwise they will make you wait for a year. And personaly, I think the earliest something like that gets done, the less a child will be traumatized.

No not necessarily, its up to you I have 2 boys and they are not circumcized I work in a pediatric office and I've had the opportunity to be in the surgery room whiled the doctor was performing one and its not a pretty site the baby is in alot of pain and is barely hanging on to his breath he turns really red because they don't put them to sleep and baby is wide awake and just like you we feel the pain. imagine someone cutting your skin, as a mother i taught my boys to clean themselves and they won't have any problems.

yes...men are born with a foreskin covering their penises. Many parents opt to have their baby boy's circumcized. Its sometimes a very controversial proceedure. MAny people think that a man is born witha a foreskin it should stay. You need to teach your son to pull the foreskin back to clean out all the germs...they also seem to get more infections.

Most mothers have their sons circumcised when they are born, other than that, some wait till later in life, and in some cultures, they just do not think it is necessary...
But I would have to ask if I could feed it peanuts!

NO circumsion is a choice- some people due it as part of culture or religion- other do it for cleanliness. hospitals don't rush out and do it right away anymore- it is now considered a choice ( A damn expensive one if you have it done in a hospital)

Most boys get it done right after they are born. Its known as a circumcision. You dont have to get it done, but there is risk of infection if they dont.
