That was the year when I got the key of the door. In them days this was a big birthday "21" not 18 like today.
Don't know if it's a good or bad thing as young people are definately becoming more mature younger. Is it society that is making them grow up before their time?
I know one thing for sure the music was far far better then than it is today. (except for Punk)
I remember the Bay City Rollers well.

S A T U R D A Y NIGHT! YESSSS
My cousin had an evil kenevil bike and I had a pinky Tuskidaro bike lol and the Big Wheels were rollin!
My cousin tried to act like the fonze. hehe
We would play for hours in the heat of the day. It was always a competetion between me and him. I remember once we kept jumping on an inner tube for hours seeing who could stay on it the longest.
All our friends would line up and do the locomotion around the yard to grand funk railroad! Oh and Do you remember the old yoohoo machines and pop machines? Shaped like a big freezer.
I loved the yoohoos then.
We would sing the lion sleeps tonight and drink our yoohoos.
Everything was bigger and better then wasnt it? lol
The summer was hot! My grandmother had one of those grape vines in her yard. We would play tag around it and it was always covered with big beattles.. ukk ..... I had a crush on an older boy down the street. I would ride my bike up and down the street by his house all day long. Everyone figured it out and teased me saying I like taxi cab. Taxi Cab?? LOL They all called him taxi cab because they said his ears was so big you could ride on them! Those days were so fun. When everyone was still alive and well. Wouldnt it be nice to just have a day like that again?

Yes, I am that old. One thing I do remember however was 'corona' drinks. Rather than drinking coke, I used to drink dandelion and burdock flavoured Corona. Interestingly, the containers were made of glass, and there was a deposit of 10p on the bottle, which you only got back when you returned the empty. So, we were more environmentally friendly in not using plastic or tin in 1976 and were doing more to recycle our glass than we are currently doing!!!!! Plus, milk was still delivered to the doorstep by a milkman rather than being purchased in a supermaket, and arrived in glass, again recycled daily, having been delivered on a truck powered by recycled electric batteries rather than the diesel/petrol powered lorries the supermarkets use to home-deliver milk nowadays. Makes you think doesn't it?
