I'm writing a paper on the relation of the Salem witch trials to the 1950's Red Scare. Can someone help me out? Anything would be a HUGE help.

you should read the play,"The Crucible" by Arthur Miller. It is based on the events surrounding the 1692 witch trials of Salem, Massachusetts. Miller wrote about the event as an allegory for McCarthyism and the Red Scare, which occurred in the United States in the 1950s.

Fear is the underlying theme behind both periods of time. Fear of the unknown and Satan drove the inhabitants of Salem to condemn and persecute young women. Fear of communism (which was a direct threat to democracy) drove McCarthy and his cohorts to persecute and condemn any "pinkos". It became a way for the nation/community to select a scapegoat on which to pin all the wrongs.

Well, I would think that, the only relationship between the two would be that they were both caused by a false fear of something that wasn't really there.
They both fed off fear, false allegations were made, careers and lives were ruined..
Farther information may or may not be found in your history books.
