A few years back, I got pregnant. My husband and I were overjoyed--we had been trying for months. We did everything right to make sure the baby would be happy and healthy. Then when I was about three months along, we found out the baby had severe Down's Syndrome, and could never lead a normal life. After a weekend of pure hell, we finally faced the decision, and agreed that we could not force a baby to live that way. I still wish with all my heart that we didn't have to do what we did, but I also know it was the right decision.

Because of economics I had to decide wether to move my family from Maine to Virginia.I wrote the list..the pros and cons of moving my family to a state where we knew no one, would have no family members around, and were not familiar with the territory but I knew the job would be secure. We went, even though the cons outwayed the pros.In the end it didn't matter,we ended up moving back to Maine one year later..I missed my brother's wedding ,my Grandmothers death, two births in the family, not to mention Holidays and family gatherings. In the end family takes precident over any economics. blessings VIJ

I could have chosen wrongly, but I chose to offer her the dignity of my hand rather than the doctors'.
