You've heard the expression, "Necessity is the mother of invention", haven't you? Back in the days of the ancient Egyptians, women used kohl to line their eyes, and powder made from ground mortar bricks, on their cheeks. If there was no makeup, I'd have to invent my own concoctions, using whatever was available in the pantry. I'd mix cornstarch with various coloring agents, such as food colorings. Cooking oil could sub for bath oil and cleansing creams. I'd use petroleum jelly to tame stray eyebrows, beet juice for lipstick, and mashed avocado for a deep conditioner for my hair. To top it all off, a drop or two of vanilla behind my ears for perfume. I'd be limited only by my wild imagination, however, I have to say in all fairness that makeup is here to stay -- thank goodness!

I agree with the first post, I don't depend on it, but it's fun to play with. I doubt we'd ever have to worry about not having make up though, it's been around since the Egyptians

Makeup is just a tool, not a necessity. Besides it's fun! I used to only wear makeup on special occasions. I wear it every day now because I've been trying to put together a more stylish and professional look, in part for the office, but mostly for me.

if there was no makeup...we wouldn't know what we were missing out on. I don't strongly depend on it, but I'd be extremely pissed if someone took it away from me...it's something fun that comes with being a girl.

i have no idea.. the sad thing is i feel sooo ugly w/o eyeliner and powder and lip gloss and eyebrow powder.. and i don't care at work so i dont' wear any and i feel like crap hahaha. the list goes on. whatever happened to being naturally beautiful??

Hmm. Well... I depend on eyeliner, but I think I would be able to live with it, if not, I would find a way :D

I don't wear much and I don't wear it all the time so I think I'd be fine without it.

if dere was no makeup we wouldnt miss it , we wouldnt know bout it coz it didnt exist in da first place. and we could live witout it. dere r lots of girls who depend on it, n put it everyday, everytime, almost or like an obsession ; juss like sex is to u guys... :D
