When China does take back Taiwan, does anyone think this will create a domino effect in the Asian peninsula there? How likely is this of happening soon? Will N. Korea get invovled which will invovle S. Korea & Japan. Also would if the US tried to invade N. Korea, would China come to it's aid?

if china tries to take back taiwan we will be at war with china ... and this is a very likely scenario within the next couple of years ... if north korea attacks the south or japan we would bomb them for sure .. this would probably get us into it with china as well .... i predict china and north korea will most likely hold off on any plans for another year or two while china continues to modernize its military machine and finish its nuclear capable sub fleet ... that will be done presumably by 2008 ... it gets scary after that.

China has and will continue to believe that it deserves control of South East Asia. It is less a domino effect than China will act to take resources it needs and force submission of whichever people it chooses to in that region. To that end, it will make sure that other global hegemons like Russia or the US are on it's side or effectively hamstrung.

In the case of North Korea, they probably would defend it unless NK actually nuked Japan or the US. In that case, world pressure would probably force them to temporarily turn a blind eye to NK.
