Freaking Socialist. Many of the rich people actually earned what they have through hard work and perserverance. I don't know what your calling rich either. Is it $1million? Or $10 million? or $100 million? Well, whatever # it is, they should be able to keep it. Also get rid of the Estate tax, why do we need to double tax people who have already paid taxes on their income once? Also the Estate tax hurts many small family farms that happen to have land worth a million or two. Its bull, and you lefties need to keep your hands on your own money and qut worrying about how muhc everyone else has.

What makes you think that they are not already taking half of it away? They don't give it to the poor though, they use it to spend on their favorite programs some of which benefit the poor some of which don't. I definitely do not think that they should hand it over directly to the poor. Most of them would squander it in an instant, that is why many of them are poor in the first place. Just look at what happens when poor people win the lottery, a couple of years later they are worse off because now they owe taxes that they can no longer pay because they spent it all.

My friend is a farmer, his land is worth $3M...should the governement take have of the land that has been passed down four generations.
His income from the land is about $75K a year.
