Put together? Not so sure. But the American TV show CBS 60 minutes ran a documentry a few months ago. (it is on google video)

Basically says the IIT standards are so high and the level of intelligence of its applicants so deep, schools like MIT and CalTech are second choice if they do not get admission at IIT!!

Whats more is that MIT, CalTech and the like offer these students scholarships and welcome them eagerly.

IIT has the best reputation in the world. But if you compare the facilities of IIT (not the brilliant people who go to the school) to schools like MIT, then US schools come close.

No. Internationally, MIT and CalTech are considered at the front of nearly every facet of science and mathematics.

I don't get why so many Indians on the board have such self-esteem issues...IIT is a good school, but it is not MIT or CalTech.

No, IIT is simply a two dimensional technical school. Once finished there, a graduate can compute, can program, but has no idea why, or to what purpose.

That is only a part of the puzzle.

I would guess the best computer schools in the world are in India....according to a documentary on 60 minutes anyways.
