Metaphysics is the right brain version of physics. Both physics and meta-physics are fields which endeavor to explore and understand how the world was created -- one with the left brain, one with the right.

According to a wonderful little book I keep at my bedside called The Kybalion, there are 7 basic laws of the Universe and these are they:

1. Mentalism: The Universe is mental. All is mind.

2. Correspondence: As above, so below.

3. Vibration: Everything is in motion. Nothing is still.

4. Polarity: Everything has its pairs of opposites.

5. Rhythm: The pendulum swing manifests in everything. The measure of the swing to the right is the measure of the swing to the left.

6. Cause and Effect: There are many planes of causation but nothing escapes this law.

7. Gender: Gender manifests on all planes.

Here is an example of each law in action in the everyday world.

1. The Law of Mentalism. Every thing that appears in your world was once a thought you had. When I teach students metaphysics, I ask them to indicate an important event in their life and then to return to the place in time when they planted the seed for this event with a thought. A woman told me she had suffered in poverty for 7 years having foolishly bought a business in the worst part of town. She realized this was because once she had prayed to experience as broad and as deep a life as possible. That was when this seed was planted.

2. The Law of Correspondence. This law teaches us that we can understand the unseen by carefully observing what we can see with our own two eyes. When a woman is about to go out on a date with a new man, I encourage her to look at how he treats the waitress and how he eats his meal. This is the way he will be treating her and having sex with her after his guard is down (should she choose to continue to date him).

3. The Law of Vibration. Everything vibrates. Nothing is still. This Law helps us to understand the essence of things. It is this fine network of vibrations that connects us with every other living thing. You might picture it as an invisible world wide web. It is in tune with the vibrations of the universe that we attract and are attracted to every experience in our life. To use a metaphor, suppose you like country and western music. If you set your radio dial to country and western you will not hear classical or jazz music. If you vibrate at a peaceful level, you will not meet people who are violent.

4. The Law of Polarity. Everything has its opposite. This law helps us to understand the principles of yin and yang. Some energy attracts and some energy repels. One is not better than the other but both exist. I like to think of the astronomical world where one body can capture another by pulling it into its sphere of influence. This principle can be understood in life when we recognize the truth in this saying: If you want him to be more of a man, be more of a woman.

5. The Law of Rhythm. The pendulum swing manifests in everything. The measure of the swing to the left is the measure of the swing to the right. This law operates in life quite visibly with people who are bipolar. One day they're up, the next they're down. For most people, the law is realized when they become very, very happy. The law dictates that next they will be very, very sad. To correct this is simple: To avoid being very unhappy, avoid being very happy.

6. Cause and Effect: There are many planes of causation but nothing escapes this law. The best writing on this law, which is the law of Karma, is found in Emerson's Essay on Compensation. It is available for free download on many internet sites.

7. Gender: Gender manifests on all planes. This law works in our lives by helping us to see that each male has an inner female within him and each female has an inner male. Both are necessary for creation and regeneration. These Laws of the Universe are meta-physical but they are as certain as the law of physics. What goes up must come down. You can be certain of it!

What others have said about this article:

5.25.2004 I wanted to study the laws of the universes, I know that their are two souls within the universe (ie black - white, female - male, darkness-light).. I know that to achieve great fortune one must suffer greatly to offset it....

I have found a plan that I think will stun you, it is quite crazy but I just wanted a second opinion cos its freaky, it works!

Well, would you want something GREAT in life??.. then I guess you would have to have the wisdom, (that is not take great joy out of the stimuli) if you didnt have the wisdom then I guess it would make you very happy!.. and as you say, being happy you will inevetably be sad!..

So I figure... do something intentionally painfull to achieve, maintain and experience the good you want, offcourse you would have to realise its total swing, and do something that will swing enough for you to aquire that state, stimuli..

This is what I did, I will be sitting down, bored, not happy, not sad... then I would do something intentionaly painfull and crazy, that is go walk in the rain, do 500 push ups, scream out Hi!!!! to someone in the street (that is painfull)... and then to my incredible shock see some preety surprising things happen to me in equal swing, like I met an amazing girl, I got offered a job in america for my game design music.... just to see what happens I didnt do any of the painfull swings, and to my shock i stop getting emails from the game design company, the girl was in melbourne just in a holiday!!

I am thinking of taking i to the extreme, until im a millionare.. then again I guess if I was to die, all that swing would pass on to the next life??

Hi I am Gary from Australia,

There are many laws to the Universe, to understand them all and to gain them all you need to understand the creator of the universe and create a bond with thee to the point that he will grant you whatever you want as long as it is within the laws of the universe.

That is law #1

Create respect/faith in the creator as you establish contact with the creator.

Achieve it and the rest will follow so smoothly.

It's like a puzzle, open the first door and all the doors will open for you.

Simply wishing you the best of luck,

Garry

There are no true laws.

Scientists call something a "law" when a behavior is never broken in nature. Since apparently there's always an exception to be found eventually, no "physical law" should actually be considered 100% true... or at least guaranteed to be true forever.

I could give you a list of laws that are unbreakable at this moment in time, but they would be too many...check your physics textbook, that's just the introduction...

" I am the Lord thy God...Thou shalt have no other gods before Me." ---Exodus 20: 2-3.
Sounds like he's pretty much in charge and in control of all the natural laws of the universe-- the ones we know about and the ones yet to be discovered by the scientific method. We're still trying to figure out the string theory of the universe over Big Bang-- my guess is, when all is said and done,--it all leads back to God anyway.

The fundamental Law seems to be:

Once you've figured out all the laws, somebody will find something that requires at least one more law and that law cannot violate any of the other laws.

What is the Law? Not to run on all fours. That is the law. Are we not men? What is the Law? Not to eat meat. That is the law. Are we not men? What is the Law? Not to spill blood. That is the law. Are we not men? His is the hand that makes. His is the hand that heals. His is the house of pain!

I can only think of one concrete law of the Universe. Everything happens the way it was meant to.

The universe has no laws, as yet no one has claimed it as their own so no politicians to make any

Depends on if anyone has made any "amendments" to the universal constitution as to what the current laws will be

Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.
Never underestimate the stupidity of the average person.
Be kind to animals and old people.
