They already do. They lost to Yemen 0-3, in the last major game. I believe they are playing again next week, in the Asian qualifiers, for the Asian Cup next year.

India isn't that bad in football, considering the fact that there are a lot of teams inferior to India in football...... The Only positive one can take out of Indian football...

yes i do think india should play football . now with a foreign coach and wit foreign tactics i really feel india will qualify for next world cup .we ve defeated the chinese under 20 side after the entry of the new coach . this is only the begining theres much more to come

there are numerous places in india where WC football is a great event when compared to WC cricket.
& the support given to the soccer matches played in those areas is immense.
