I don't see why not. It's a sure way of having it YOUR way!

Organizing a baby shower takes time and can be costly. Perhaps you have a friend who feels incapable of organizing it or too short on funds, to commit to throwing it for you. My suggestion is to talk with your friends, offering to help organize and pay for the shower, with them. This way, you have your baby shower, without having to throw it entirely yourself.

PS: Congratulations. The choice to have a child is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body!

It is not typically done this way and it isn't traditional; however, I guess if this is your first baby and no one else is gonna do it - then go for it. Or you can plan everything and have a friend to say that she is the host!?

Good Luck

Sure, if nobody else is going to. Also, many people have more than 1 shower. One at work, one for family, one for friends.

Add one more vote for no. This is very poor manners. Give your friends and family a chance to throw one for you (dropping hints that you would like one wouldn't hurt).

I think that might be a little tacky, do you have a friend or relative who might want to host the party? That might be a better option than having one for yourself. Congratulations on the baby though!

I did! :) Not sure if it's okay etiquette wise, but my shower was just family and very close friends.
