If I were a newspaper, I'd be independently owned and operated - and certainly not owned by one of the big publishing conglomerates.
If I were a newspaper, I'd see to it that everything published was fair, accurate, truthful, balanced, objective, and complete.
If I were a newspaper, I'd return to being part of the "fourth estate" which was intended to serve as America's watchdog and question everything the government does.
Having owned my own weekly community newspaper for 15 years, and having worked for USA TODAY, I can certainly see the differences between an independent press and a press controlled by big-money corporate interests who are far too cozy with the government. -RKO-
