PRACTICE,PRACTICE AND PRACTICE

I first nuzzle it in my instep drive with the other foot in the same position without the ball to support me and say my right foot is nuzzling the ball, then I put my right hand on the ground. Then I turn back a little bit from the ball (the father you take your feet away from the ball the more the ball will curve and go when you strike at it) and then kick the ball as hard as you can so it goes past the goalkeeper (if you are aiming for the goal).

I've been curious myself so i googled it, and here's what i found:

"High-speed cameras showed that Beckham accelerated the ball to 80 miles per hour, after hitting it about 8 centimeters to the right of its center with the instep of his right foot. The ball spun counterclockwise at about eight revolutions per second and started swerving to the left. The ball rose into the air as if it would soar over the goal's crossbar. Then, it slowed to 40 mph, curved further to the left, and dropped into the top left corner for the goal"

A research team actually studied this based on his "legendary" goal against Greece back in WC 2002.

You have to spin the ball, using the inside of your foot to kick it off the centre. That way, the amount of air that passes by the ball from each side will be different, causing a curved trajectory.

You hit the inside of the ball if you want it the curve from left to right or the outside to curve from right to left. If you are right handed. Practice a lot and becomes easy.

this is the advice taken from the Serie A's leading set-piece specialist, Andrea Pirlo----

"I've been inspired by Juninho (Brazil)," he continued. "I saw the way he makes contact with the ball and copied him.

"I spoke to Coach Carlo Ancelotti one day with the idea of striking the ball with the three small toes of my foot.

"It is also important to place the ball in a certain way."

Some players like to make contact with the air valve of the ball, which increases the chances of movement through the air.
