Im against Abortion, and i dont believe in the Death penalty...
I think im fine, i have the right to my opinion.
Abortion is killing a person, wether it is a cell, or a full grow baby not out of the womb, It has potential to live, breathe and become a sucessful member of society. There is no exuse for abortion, with all the adds for safe sex, it is disgusting to think that people can just Kill their misteaks. There are more than enough GOOD people out their who are unable to concieve children, and there is no shame in adoption. In Fact Adoption is by far the most responcible thing you will do as far as that situation goes. Even Rape victims can put up babies for adoption, it is unfortunate that they had to live through the horrrible act that is rape, but killing a baby shouldn't make the pain go away. Abortion is wrong and unethical.
As for the Death penalty, I am a Christian, a strong practicing one, and in my bible it does not say we have the power to choose who lives and who dies. No matter how horrible the crime, prision is still no Disney World. It costs just as much to kill someone, as it does to keep them in jail for eternity. And for those of you who are for the death penalty and criticize me think about this, You push the button. I am fortunate enough to never have had a family member murdered, and i dont know the pain that comes with it, but those who do know what it feels like to know your loved ones killer, and you feel you need them to die inorder for their to be closure, i challenge you. 1) think about The criminals family who now has to deal with death as well. 2) You Push the button, you kill the killer, see if you can do it, you willingly kill someone.
those are my thoughts, take them or leave them, just dont criticize me for what i believe and what my faith teaches me

Death penalty- This is complicated, I would normally say I am against it. At the same time, I don't want super psychotic murderers wandering the street killing innocent people. I suppose I am against it mostly because it's not cost effective.
Abortion-This is possibly the most disgusting, inhumane and degrading thing a woman could ever do to herself, for herself. To think, ripping the beginning of an innocent life out of her, just because she doesn't want it. If you don't want a baby, don't have sex. Simple enough.
However, while that's how I feel emotionally and how I will react to people who do get abortions, Legally, there is no acceptable, non-religious logic to making it illegal.
Medical science has agreed that the babies are not a living human until around the beginning of the third trimester (don't quote me on the timing.). So as far as law goes, we cannot make it illegal based on our religious feelings, as there must be a separation of church and state.
What we could and should do is put a huge sin tax on it. So if you want an abortion it's going to cost you big bucks. Of course, thats just a possible cure to the problem of using abortion as birth control.

personally I am against the death penalty....why you may ask, well, because people have been killed that were innocent, and until we as a country can come up with a better justice sytem, than a jury of our peers.....it isn't safe for anyone! People are judgemental by nature, so how can you ask 12 people to go in a room and fairly, using only the evidence descide if someone lives or dies, it is a natural thing to look at someone and form an opinion, that sticks with you, and it can't work to have peers judge your case, it's just not in us to be fair. As for abortion, I think that it's better to never be born, than to be born into an abusive environment, or what about the poor babies born to their own sisters and things like that....is that really any life?

I think that they are showing compassion. If they were for abortion and against the death penalty then I would wonder what was up. there was a line in the movie "The Lord of the Rings" that summed things up very nicely. It went something like: "Many who live deserve death and many who are dead deserve to live. Can you give it to them? Then don't be too hasty to deal out death as punishment". It's not an exact quote but it shows a lot of wisdom.

They are Catholics.
I personally am against abortion not for religous reasons, only because it is just plain wrong.
I am pro Death Penalty, but only in using it as, it is to be intended as a deterant. What is in place now is a mockery of Justice.
Ican see one Appeal and time enough to say good bye and get his affairs in order, then lights out. Within 45-90 days a public spectacle, so that it is humiliating to some extent.

I'm actually for both. There are some crimes just too terrible to allow the person to live, especially ones which will probably repeated, like child molestation. I once had a law professor who listed the many purposes of punishment. Not only were there the usual ones, such as education and reform, but also societal revenge.
As for abortion, I don't think it should be used in place of birth control, but there are circumstances where it is a necessary evil. My husband and I once found out I was pregnant. We were thrilled--it was one of the happiest times of our life. Then we found out the baby had severe Down's Syndrome. We couldn't let the baby face a life like that.

Both sides of these discussions have very good points. but i beleive that criminals should get the death penalty becuse they have done wrong things and should be punished for it. but i also believe that abortion is wrong. It is murder. the baby's dont even get to make mistakes becuse they are killed before they are even born. i understand why someone would wanna have an abortion, but i say why have an aboriton when their are always parents out there who want kids but cant have them. Stick to adoption instead of abortion.

I think that people have a right to be agianst anything that they want.... I think that ABORTION is totally wrong its murder of a human being that didn't ask to be born and i think that they have a right to live!! The death penalty is for people that kill other people or do some crime and most of the time they deserve to die!!!

Someone who is against the death penalty and also opposes abortion is, at the very least, consistent in their belief that all life is sacred.

To each their own, I am personally prochoice and pro death penalty. Both are consistent with sound Biblical teaching, maybe not consistent with modern "christendom" . But modern "christendom" is wrong on a lot of Biblical issues.
