Invincible is a thing that cannot be beaten, is unchallengeable. When you put "not" in front of invincible it means that it is capable of being beaten. It is what is known as a double negative. The team played as though invincible.( The team played like they couldn't be beat.) The team played as though not invincible. (They played bad and could be beaten.) When not is used with another negative it cancels the other neg.out. Hope you got it!

Invincible is something that can't be beaten.

'Not Invincible', it is NOT that the thing / person can't be beaten or conquered / defeated.

Got it?

The Trojan army is not invincible but it defeated the enemies by a trick (a wooden horse)!

Got it?

Literally, not invincible means someone (or something) who can be beaten or overcome.
