Shaun Alexander, LaDanian Tomlinson or Larry Johnson are considered to be the top 3 by most FF Magazines. Here is my take on it.

Larry Johnson is being over-hyped. We keep hearing things like "if you take his per game average and spread it over an entire season (LJ started a little more than half of KC's games last season) he would blow by the single season rushing record!"

A couple of seasons back, I heard that Kurt Warner was on pace to demolish Dan Marino's record for passing yards in a single season. In the end, he didn't come close. A few more years back, so-called experts said that because of an incredible partial season performance the previous year, the #1 draft pick should be Kordell Stewart. That didn't work out too well either. In other words, just because someone had an incredible season (or partial season) the year before does not mean they will be great this year.

As for Shaun Alexander, he just came off of a record-breaking season, compiling 28 TDs and leading the league in rushing yards. Sounds perfect, right? Ask the people who drafted Peyton Manning #1 last season after his big year the season previous. His numbers dropped off big time. There's a reason that records are hard to break...I can't think of any instance where a player broke a record one season and then put up similar numbers the next. It just doesn't happen.

Which leads me to LaDanian Tomlinson. LT is the most consistent of the three. He didn't lose his lead blocker in the off-season (as Johnson & Alexander have). He is near the league lead in total yards from scrimmage every year. He has always been amongst the league leaders in receiving yards, getting more yards than many WRs. He has thrown SEVERAL TD passes. He has a better passer rating than any QB on his team.

What's not to like about LT? He should be the #1 pick, with Alexander 2nd and Larry Johnson 3rd.

RB gets all of the points in Fantasy league and there are 2 pro bowl fantasy studs at the top of the list LJ and LT either will put up points. LT might have the edge because of the rookie QB but if you get either of them you should be ok!

it depends if your league rewards for receptions. if so, LT bc he catches out of the backfield A LOT. if your league does not reward for receptions, i would have to go with LJ over Shaun Alexander or LT bc of the ease of seattle's schedule, it's possible Shaun is sitting and resting by the beginning of the 3rd quarter. But KC's defense is so bad they always have to be scoring in order to win games which means their best players are playing and scoring you fantasy points during the whole game.

Ok, I say LJ and that is 100%. Yes, he lost Saunder, Richardson, Vermeil, and supposedly Roaf. But, Vermeil was replaced by Herm Edwards who is avid with a stoudt run game. Roaf will more than likely come back, Richardson can be replaced, and Saunders' right hand man took over at OC. Shaun lost Hutch, he is getting old, and frankly he can not produce what he did last year- but LJ can TOP what he produced last year.

Without a doubt S. Alexander. He is a scoring machine. The offense in Seattle goes thru him. No receivers so anything close to The Red Zone goes to ALexander. But if you are in my league ignore that info and pick a kicker first. LOL. Good Luck and have fun.

LJ. Everywhere I look, he is ranked #1. Some think S.A. but he only scores. Don't pick Shaun Alexander, pick Larry Johnson.
