Taylor Hicks is by far my favorite American Idol contestant ever, not just winner. I get so sick of the people who say he is "weird" or anything along those lines. Just because he doesn't fit the American Idol standard, people automatically assume he is horrible. I was Soul Patrol from the moment he auditioned. While I know, and will gladly admit, that there were people who had better technical voices (Mandisa and Paris) than him, he had the most passion. The most soul. And you could tell when he sang that he sang from the heart. He didn't care about the big execs pulling the strings. He cared about the fans and pleasing them. I was one of the ones dialing like a mad man on the phone, week after week. If only for the sole purpose of proving a point to the big suits who run the music industry. It's not all about what you look like or what you say. It is about the music and heart. And Taylor is the epitome of that. Taylor has the potential to change the way people look at music today (which is something it seriously needs). He is representing the people like me, who long for the days when music was actually of some quality.

Well I really don't care for American Idol. But Taylor Hicks is diffrent. He's unique and I think he could have made it without American Idol. But he tried out and made it. So more noteriety for him, and a market to sell to.

Will I didn't like him on the first time I saw him but after a while I thought that he will be the winner cause he have a really nice voice, he is sexy and my favorite idol after kelly clarkson,

I question his heterosexual credentials....he has a good voice but comes off queer as a 3 dollar bill....not that there's anything wrong with that.
P.S Idol sucks since season 4 where in Bo Bice got ROBBED!

He must be pretty cool because I heard he sang with Widespread Panic as a guest at a recent show. WSP must have some level of respect for him so I will give him the benefit of doubt...

I like him but I think he got a lot of votes because of his personality. They did have better singers than him on Idol.

i don't really care for american idol but he is a great singer and it is nice to see someone win who isn't a cookie-cutter pop singer

i absolutely love american idol..katharine mcphee was my favortie this year..but taylor is still good too..he knows how to get a crowd going..thats what katharine said in a magazine anyway......CARRIE UNDERWOOD IS THE BEST AMERICAN IDOL THOUGH!!

that show should be cancled. it doesnt do the winners any good. the only one that actually makes good songs that america likes is kelley. THE SHOW IS OLD. I HATE IT
