I am a 22 year old female, and I do enjoy to shop. But why in the world do some women spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars one one item or another? If you have alot of money that is one thing but when you don't why do you spend that much? I just don't understand it when the same you thing could cost alot alot less if you bought it somewhere else. Please someone tell me why.

I think some women just like to brag about how much they spend like it's a good thing they have one less brain cell...and actually want to pay more ???

The majority of my work wardrobe comes from Talbots. I do spend quite a bit of money on clothes (usually between $250 and $400 for a suit) but I'm a firm believer in "You get what you pay for." That's not always to say the most expensive is the best...in some cases it's the exact opposite. I just like Talbots' clothes because they're high quality, well made, always in style (I hate trendy garbage.) and will last me a long time. I'll keep a suit I purchased there for 5 years and I'll still be wearing it and it'll still look like new. If I had opted to go to Fashion Bug or Dress Barn or anywhere else, sure...I could have gotten at least 3 suits for what I paid for only one from Talbots, but in that five year period, they would have probably gone out of style, become frayed or otherwise damaged, and possibly even threadbare.

Because, same as some men like to brag about how many women they have slept with, some women like to brag about branded clothing and stuff. They think expensive crap will make them seem unavailable to some men, or make them look better than their girlfriends. Women always have to compete with each other to see who's the best. To me that's bull crap. Why spending 300 bucks on a pair of high heels shoes that will cost you a lot less on Payless shoes for example? I have decided to free myself from all stereotypes and use comfortable shoes everywhere I go. I might not look "sexy" but I don't get callouses for fashion or competition's sake. It's a matter of intelligence. Besides, men don't look at those things. They don't even care. All they care about is how available (easy) we are. And I don't have to compete in order to see who's the best. Knowing I am is enough for me. I don't have that necessity to show off. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that finds this whole fashion business lame and useless. And I must add, no expensive crap will make you look beautiful if you're not. And if you are, even the cheapest thing will look great on you.

Some women think it's the clothes that gets the good men, soon they will realize that the men do the same thing. If all people have is their looks and no confidence in themselves then they can go waste their money. Me, personally I have confidence in my looks and my whole being I don't worry about designer clothes. it's not the clothes that makes the woman it's the woman that makes the clothes!

I think there are lots of reasons, but the 2 top ones are prestige and wanting a rich man. I shop at Fashion Bug and PayLess Shoe Source (except for my Nike's) because I can't afford anything else, and I think I look fine. I realize I don't have good quality leather shoes, but I simply don't care.

Because the are materialistic and in their eyes if it cost more then it is better and more fashionable. Even though after they spent all that money on it they don't have money to go out and show it off. But they always seem to have a poor soul acting as a sugar daddy to treat them

Because they wear clothes much more than anything else so they spend their money on clothes more too

I'm a girl but I hate to shop unless i need to. Girls like my mother and sisters love to shop don't know why i guess it's their idea of fun( don't ask me why)

Cause women are stupid, or they just want to look good. Im guess that both of those happen, but I think its mostly to look good.
