My doc said that I'd have to get surgery on my knee after hyperextending it in gymnastics. He said if I couldnt walk on it before the end of summer that I would have to get it. Can anyone give me any advice on how to stop being nervous?? Can anyone help me get through it?? Its on Friday. Anything to do after??

just think of the outcome and just think you'll be able to do gymnastics when you get better and other sports that you want to do!! i had surgery when i was in first grade to get my tonsils takin out and i couldnt do anything for the first week or i had a chance of bleeding really bad and i could have died. if u have something special like a stuffed amimal or a bear that is really important to you you could probably take it to the or with you if you ask, i took a bear that my mom gave me to the or with me and it helped and yes i was really really nervous to go through with the surgery because i was only 6 years old. just take your time with reabillitation and you'll get better before u know it hope i helped. P.S do all the stuff ur supposed to do after ur surgery and it will help too!!!

It's normal to be nervous I have had 3 operations in the past 3 years and I was nervous each time talk to your doctor and perhaps the can give you something to help calm you down and before you know it the operation will bw over and you will feel silly about being so nervous..good luck you'll be fine in no time

well the good part is you will be asleep, you will not feel anything, did you talk to more then one dr? ask how long recovery will be, did he explain the type of surgery?
