I have this constant pop up of spyware alert from window security center and if I close it, it will change the home page to blank and connect to antispynet.com. I cannot get rid of this one because it locks out my ability to change the internet connection setting under Tools in Internet explorer. I already ran Norton antivirus scan but cannot get rid of this guy.

As crazy as this sounds, Antispynet IS spyware. This is a trick people use to get you to buy their product. They make you think you're at risk from spyware and then connect you to their site to hawk their wares. Spyware is a huge problem next to spam. Go to the link below and look for the free anti-spyware programs. I use four different ones and they find stuff from time to time. The first scan I ever ran for spyware turned up 83 different types!!! That was with the free program Ad-aware SE. You can find it through the site below. Also, Spybot Search and Destroy (free) works great!!! Spyware Blaster is another good one as well as Microsoft's anti-spyware program which you can get at Microsoft's website. I also paid $30 for Spy Sweeper from Webroot. It's an active program that can block spyware from getting into your computer to begin with.
You can run many anti-spyware programs on your computer together, unlike anti-virus programs which only one at a time on a computer is recommended (they fight each other if you have Norton AND McAffey installed). Unless you have Norton's 2006 anti-virus/anti-spyware it will not detect and eliminate the spyware on your computer now.
Good luck and have a great day!

Go to www.download.com and download an anti-spyware/adware pgogram. I usually use AdAware, it's great for removing most of that stuff from your computer. Once the program is installed, run a check and it will eliminate most of anything that may be causing this.

Install Yahoo toolbar and also Ad-Aware SE Personal from Lavasoft.

" Yahoo! Toolbar lets you:
Protect your PC with award-winning Anti-Spy technology
Use tabs to navigate to your open web pages
Search the Web from anywhere online
Check your Yahoo! Mail, Yahoo! Messenger and more "

" Ad-Aware Personal provides advanced protection from known data-mining, aggressive advertising, Trojans, dialers, malware, browser hijackers, and tracking components. This software is downloadable free of charge. "

I've used them both and they work.

Use Kaspersky Internet Security 2009. It's worth the price. It blocks out all the unwanted pop-ups. And also there is a free version which you can download :D

go for something with a realtime monitoring.

* avoid suspcious websites

* use pop-up blockers

* clean up your registry & back it up

* run scans frequently

honestly, wipe the drive and start over. I have had this stuff and it just starts taking over systems like reproducing bunnies. move all your files to a jump drive or cd and wipe the drive and re-install your op. system. Spyware scanners just won't kill it cause every time they find it it clones itself to another location until the sweep is done and then puts itself back. WIPE IT MAN!

Ok the first thing you do is get some flammable substance, pour that sh!t all over the computer, light a match and burn that bastard to nothing. You will then no longer have antispy problems with that computer.
