Can anyone give me the names of some good clubs/restaurants/shopping places IN Panama City Beach? Also, for anyone who lives there, how is the weather in mid September??

Breakers and Sharky's usually have some good bands.
Here is what I would recommend by type of dining:
Buffets: Bishop's Family Buffet
Steaks: Boar's Head
Italian: Sweet Basils
Casual Seafood / Sports Bar: Montego Bay
Seafood: Captain Andersons
International: Casa De Fogo Brazilian Restaurant (ask about early bird specials)
Japanese: Mikato (ask about early bird specials)
Chinese: Chinatown
Exotic: The Treasure Ship
Sandwiches: Bay Street Deli
Fast Food: Back Yard Burgers
There is not a whole lot of shopping on the beach other than the souvenir shops. There is a linen outlet on back beach road and a winery. The Panama City Mall across the bridge includes the usual stores such as Sears, JCPenney, and Dillards.
Temperatures range from a low of 72 to a high of 86 in September.
My wife and I are Tallahasseans; Panama City Beach is our second home!

Club La Vela or Veta, I can't remember the name, but it is huge and everybody knows where it is at. The weather is perfect year round, unless there is a hurricane of course.

Landry's seafood and if you drive to Destin the Boar's head has THE BEST STEAKS EVER you can cut them with a fork
