Hardly.....I'm not a fan of the team, but they're only a couple of games out of their division lead, and they've got an excellent shot of going to the playoffs.

Some of us would kill to see our teams in the same position as Boston.

The Red Sox don't suck, but they are the second most classless team in baseball (behind the Showalter-led Rangers) and they are ridiculously overrated, as is the entire Eastern Division. As for the idiot who said "win a championship this century", I would like to point out that once a century is the pace your Red Sox are on, so I would shut up if I were you. No team was won more World Series than the Yankees, and Boston fans are legendary for their player-hating of the Yankees for that reason. Red Sox fans are pathetic and have a culture of losing. They don't even know what to do with Championships. Deep down they want to lose, because that is the identity they have chosen for the last 90 years. Also, I can't help but notice the Red Sox have a lot of fair weather fans who won't be there once the Sox start losing.

Can we stop these ignorant questions? Of course, the Red Sox DON"T suck..we're right behind the Yankees (much too close) and so if we suck, then the Yankees, who got beat by the White Sox last night, also suck!!

I swear, don't these people READ the previous questions??

Wow, Red Sox fans get skewered constantly for "Yankees Suck" chants and then there are fans like this. So much for being the better team with the holier-than-thou approach because your team has more titles.

Maybe some day you'll grow up and realize that your team (I'm assuming you're a Yankees fan) is firmly embattled in one of the greatest rivalries in the history of sports and you'd appreciate the Red Sox, even if you didn't like them, for making your team's season so much more interesting.

Or maybe you'll never grow up and you'll continue being an idiot who likes to post stupid comments just to see what responses come up.

Imagine being up 3 games to none in the ALCS, a lead that had never been overcome in the history of baseball. Up one run in the bottom of the ninth. Greatest closer in post-season history on the mound. A lead off walk to Kevin Millar. Dave Roberts pinch runs. He steals second. Mueller loops a single to center to tie the game...and...then...it all...slips away. For one magical week in October, the meak inherited the earth. The significance of your question, since anyone could look at the standings, must be, the Yankees are really still superior aren't they? The answer came in October of 2004. Or maybe in October 2001, October 2002, October 2003 or October 2005, when the Yankees lost the money games less dramatically, but with just as much finality. Your team's not special anymore. They are the American League Cardinals at 4 times the price. Deal with it.

They don't suck, they are just bad for baseball. Same with the Yankees, Mets, Dodgers and Angels. Any team that can just go out and buy a championshipis not good for the sport. And by the way, those four teams have the highests payroll in baseball, and its not even close. I am a die-hard Cincinnati Reds fan and we are competing which is nice, but we could never afford such ostentatious salaries as the one's those teams do. For that reason, in the American League I say go Tigers, at least they can actually build a team from the ground up and don't have to go buy every available player on the market.

Wow! That's a pretty bold statement from a fan whose team blew a 3 game lead against them in the playoffs. AND, in head to head matchups this year each team has 5 wins. So, if you're going to insult the Red Sox, then you're insulting the Yankees.

Yes they do, all except for Big Papi. But especially Manny Ramirez, he sucks most of all. But then again so do the Yankees.
Too bad Jeter is so cool, he should go to another team. As for Gay-Rod and the rest of the suck me's, they all suck.
