I had this problem.

It turned out that when I moved into our new house and moved the broadband service, I was upgraded to an 8mb line.

They forgot to tell me that my Voyager 100 modem was not suitable - presumably you're getting a slow speed and interference on the line.

I complained to BT Sales as I wasn't going to pay for something I wasn't receiving.

I explained the above and the sales guy apologised and said I should have been sent the new BT Home Hub. One was duly dispatched - free of charge - and received a couple of days later.

I installed it and after 3 hours, I was running at 8 mbs with no interference with the phone line.

Don't bother with the 0845 number, it gets you some useless at BT Total Broadband. Speak to sales as they should be able to sort out any esoteric problems.

Yes, I have BT broadband with Yahoo, I have option 2 and use a wireless router which is really far away in my bedroom, I haven't actually had any problems with the cutting out of phone, I'm assuming your using a filter/telephone splitter, that divides your phone line. Phone BT I always phone them if I have a problem.I phone them for everything and anything, they are really good help!

Try running your BT Yahoo Broadband Help Agent; that should be able to fix the problem or guide you to where you can get the problem fixed. I had this problem and I had to get new equipment I will tell you a little secret phone up the Broadband help desk tell them the problem and then say that you are not happy with BT and ask for a migration code; and see what they say

yes and a lot more other problems as well, I've come to the conclusion the we pay a higher price not for decent customer support but so BT can offer new customers hundreds of pounds worth of free gifts and once you've signed up BT will forget all about you, the only reason i stick with BT is because they are the only ISP that says it will block child pornography websites which i totally support but as soon as someone else stands up and says they will do the same i will seriously consider leaving BT.
BT SUCKS!!!!!

yes sometimes if we're using the Internet when the phone rings we have to restart the computer or log out of the Internet BT do not see this as a problem unable to get an answer as to why its happening. I'm glad we're not the only people having this problem.

if the phone rings and u get cut off, u have the filters setup up incorrectly.
the router should be plugged into your master telephone socket.
eg
master socket -->filter -->router
--> telephone

other boxes -->filter -->phone

if u need to run extenstion cables make sure u plug a double adpater into the phone part of the filter.

and if u need to restart. chances are u proberly have spyware etc. so i would advise a full spyware scan.
