Individual states have differing laws regarding posessing handguns. You didn't mention which state you reside in so its impossible to answer your question. In Oregon a person may possess and carry a firearm in plain sight if they are not felons, illegal immagrants, etc. To carry concealed a resident must have a concealed weapon permit issued by the sheriff of their county of residence.

I am not exactly sure what you are asking. It all depends on state laws about carrying a hand gun. If also depends on the license, some states allow one to carry a gun, open or concealed, some say you canown one but only in your own home or on your own land. Check with your local police department, but don't tell them you have a gun unless you know the laws. Unregistered guns is a felony.

You are legal unless you live in a Liberal freaky state where the Democrats are trying to take away guns from the people.

No its ok to carry guns on private land. You can shoot away too if you want, unless you have a lot of neighbors, they might get pissy.
