If it has been awhile since you cranked it, look for dirt dobber nest in the exhaust port. This is a big problem for all 2 cycle engines. If you find nothing there make sure you are getting ignition by removing the plug leave it attached to plug wire and hold end of plug against the metal housing of the motor when cranking you should see a spark. If not make sure the switch is working by removing one of the wires on the switch (you will probably have to do some dismantling to do this and you may not want to go that far although some switches are accessible without removing covers). If you are getting ignition drain all fuel from tank and check for contamination (water, bad smell etc.) If you find any contamination drain completely and spray carburator cleaner in the tank, dump then blow out with compressed air. You should also check the fuel filter in the tank and clean if necessary. Also be sure to check all fuel lines to make sure none are broken etc.
If you still have problem you will need to clean your carb. and replace bad components. Also you may want to remove the muffler and look in exhaust port pull start cord until you see the piston, if it has large groves in the piston you are probably loosing so much compression you will have to replace piston and rings that is if the cylinder walls are not too bad...Hope this helps...
By the way I believe Echo products are one of the best made...

Roe b provides all the help you need if it is not starting... However, I am not sure what you mean by "not cranking". If you mean that you pull the starter cord, and it is not engaging, the most probable culprit is the recoil starter dogs are not engaging, or the starter cup is stripped... Either is easily repaired by most people... By the way, Echo equipment is a premier brand and parts are readily available. I always loved working on their equipment, very easy to access most components...

RoeB answered this great, However if it recently ran, it may just be flooded if you're lucky.
Hold the trigger "wide open", no choke, and pull it 10-15 times.
