I hit a cyclist the other day as i was pulling out of a junction. He just rode infront of me and i sent him flying. I called an ambulance and made sure he was ok but now i'm getting charged but i havent done anything wrong. He should have stopped.

the cyclist had right of way, yes you should have stopped so i am afraid you will have to hold your hands up and take the blame

Calling an ambulance and making sure he was okay after the event doesn't give you the right of way before the incident!
When you were pulling out of the junction, do you mean that you were at a place that you should have stopped at? It sounds to me that is the case - and if so, then I am afraid that you have done something wrong.
Go back to the place where you had the accident and draw the road markings and signs on a piece of paper - then check the Highway Code or find a good solicitor.
Accidents happen - but even though it is an accident, there is usually someone at fault.

If you were pulling out of the junction onto another road (which you suggest) then you did not have right of way. Would you have pulled out if a 40-tonne truck had been coming along instead of a cyclist? They have the same rights.
In fact, a pedestrian on the footpath of the other road may even have right-of-way over you - if they are continuing along the other road, they are effectively another lane of traffic that you are trying to cross. However, pedestrians tend to be more cautious.
However, if there were traffic lights at the junction, and you had a green light, then the cyclist could be prosecuted for failing to stop at a red light.

If you go back and read your handbook you used to take the test to get your drivers license you will find that ALL pedestrians and cyclists have THE RIGHT OF WAY. That is why you are being charged. You failed to yield right of way and that is what you are charged with. Slow down some before you kill someone! By the way, keep the 10 points being as you are so discourteous while driving a motor vehicle. Glad I'm not on the road in your vicinity!

let me get this right in my mind. You were at a t juntion(or similar), the cyclist was already travelling on the road which you were intending to join(not riding along the pavement) It was either daylight, or the cyclist had decent lights on his bike. If all of the above is correct, then, unfortunately, i think the charge against you is correct, sorry.

If the cyclists was already on the road you were turning on to, then he/she/the cyclist had the LEGAL right of way. Therefore you are in the wrong, and deserve to get charged/prosecuted for endangering his/her life.

Even though you didnt have the right of way and it was your fault to be fair I think cyclist dont really care how they ride they think that they own the world and they are a menace on the roads.

unfortunately, it's always the car drivers fault. If you were sitting in traffic and a cyclist injured themselves by hitting the back of you car it would still be your fault. The law is an a s s.

He should have stopped? ? Ok Was the road traffic signalled, saying he should stop? Was it a crossroads, were you coming from a normal junction and turning left or right??
