First, how old is your child? I think that the school did a good thing about even acknowledge your child grades. However, they shouldn't have to award you for doing what you suppose to be doing has a parent. Making the honor roll is a great thing, so when Iam behind the wheel of my car and I see that crappy bumper sticker I smile. Because I know there is a proud parent in that car and they want the world to know that they got a bright kid, who is probably going to have a bright future. If you want to write to the state legislature about something, write about getting more books, better teachers, and computers in our schools. Something that could help another child, less fortunate than yours to make honor roll too.

That is absurd! You are considering a letter to the legislature because you got a crappy bumper sticker?
The state owes you nothing for your child's academic accomplishment. Education is the key to success and every child should strive to be on the honor roll.
Because your child is on the honor roll does not make him/her better than any other child. Your kids accomplishment is for your family to enjoy and relish not to stick it on your car and advertise it! When my children do well in their school year we go away on a private family vacation to show them our appreciation.
Try that for your child and grow up!

WHY YOU ASKING A QUESTION LIKE THAT???
How many times does a person have to say this...
"parents are nothing more than the support system for a child !! If a child succeeds... it is the doing of the child and not the parents !!! "
Stop being so selfish like you should receive a reward for doing an obligation you chose to accept when you had the child !!!
Start praising your child... Give him/her the credit... getting there was a road they chose... not you...!!!
Children are not obstacles nor ornaments brought on this earth to give selfish parents praise...
They are here to be nurtured and given the best a parent can offer.. It is giving of yourself for unselfish reasoning's that grant you true delight....
It is a gift that has no finite value.

You should just be happy that your child made the honor roll. Why waste your time writing the legislature...what's the point in that? What else do you want besides an intelligent, well-adjusted child?

KNOCK IT OFF, YOUR THE ONE THATS SUPPOSED TO MAKE YOUR KID FEEL GOOD ABOUT HIMSELF NOT THE TAX PAYER. BE GLAD YOU GOT A BUMPER STICKER. WHAT IS IT, DO YOU WANT THE CAR TO GO WITH THE BUMBER STICKER? YOUR KID ISN'T THE ONLY ONE THAT MAKES THE HONOR ROLL.
KUDOS TO YOUR CHILD. STOP BEING A CRY BABY.
