And you know which way they meant it. But if you say something, they say oh I didn't mean it that way or that you are paranoid?
My sister-in-law does it all the time. I know she's messing with me.

well the old me would try to ignore it :( but the new me will tell them what exactly do they mean by that or what are they implying? you should stand up for yourself and let her know that you aren't going to put up with her ****!! my sister in law and mother in law used to do they same thing and i used to get enough **** from my own mother and six sisters that i didn't need they re **** to so one day i responded in a way they didn't expect me to which shocked them they still talk **** to me but i answer them with **** back and we get along really well!!

I ASK before I respond, that way the ball is in their court & I have already made my point by calling the first shot. I had relatives like that. They have ISSUES & lack communication skills. I call them MANIPULATORS & you must learn how to beat them at their own game without sustaining an injury. Don't take it personal, as these types of people tend to treat everyone in a similar fashion! Good luck & do some reading on people with Obsessive Compulsive Disorders (OCD). This will help you to have a better understanding of human nature & the problems that hide inside of them.

Just say "I'm sorry....what did you mean by that?"
If it's innocent enough they will have no problem telling you. If it was meant to be sarcastic or demeaning, they may have trouble spitting it out.
Either way, you got your answer and they know that you won't put up with their "round about" means of communicating.

Since you know she's messing with you, guess you're just gonna hafta go her one better. Ask her to please not speak with forked tongue. If she's unable to do that. Then ask her to not speak to you at all. Then when she comes back on you,
you can ask her why SHE's so paranoid. Mind games can be fun when you reverse the process.
