When you consider that teachers are paid embarrassing salaries, music and art programs are cut while sports programs are well funded, and some parents would rather buy their children expensive cell phones and clothes rather than get them tutors, it's not surprising.

it's sad, isn't it. just the dumbing down of society. we apparently have a need for disposable soldiers and consumers in the country.
