Seriously.. I think maybe I just get bored after work when I'm home, but I literally ate like 12 pickles yesterday.. I'm going to have to go to Costco and get a jumbo jar haha... just dill ones too, I dont' like the bread and butter ones. Anyone else having this problem? LOL.. it's such a typical pregnancy craving too and I'm 17 weeks along and it just hit me!

Every now and then I get a craving for dill pickles too, I can eat a whole jar of them, and sometimes I've just got to have some chocolate ice cream with tomato juice. Thing is, I'm 52 and I haven't been pregnant in 23 years. When I was pregnant those three times all those many years ago, I craved pepperoni pizza with one watermelon with the next and cantaloupe with the last. Guess you never know what brings on a craving or what it will be for.

I am not craving pickles, but I do love to eat them. The funny thing that I noticed the other day is that according to the jar half of a dill pickle is the suggested serving!!! Who can eat half of a dill pickle? And what do you do with the other half?

Amen!!! Ask my boyfriend about the time we went to the store at eleven at night to get pickles and a quart of milk. Or about the time we were at a restaurant and I was eating pickles, chocolate cake and drinking milk. Buy stock in Vlasick!!! I keep a jar of dill pickle spears in the house at ALL times, along with a gallon or two of milk. Try it. It's good.

lol...go get some more pickles!!! get the big jar!!! its normal while pregnant as you know....my mom was the same way with ma and my sister she craved pizza 24/7. and her younger sister craved ICEE's all the time with her 2nd child and with her first she craved pickles...its was funny because she would freak out when she was out of ICEE's or pickles and her husband would have to run to the store ASAP no matter what time a day it was just to get her more...she even bought one of those minnie ICEE machines that you can get at Walmart....lol

A company called Spitz makes sunflower seeds with a dill pickle flavor. I like them a lot.

But, I'm a guy and I'm not pregnant, so what do I know?

It's a midwife's tale that women crave things because they need them. Nowadays all our food is fortified with "good stuff" the FDA or USDA says we need.

Only if the craving is something really odd like paper or ice does that indicate a need.

Eat sensibly if you want healthy babies and to be healthy yourself. Heavy salt intake is never a good idea.
