probably my favourite name of all is the name i chose for my second daughter: dwynwen.
saint dwynwen is the welsh counterpart of saint valentine (though her story is far more beautiful). the name 'dwynwen' itself can be translated in a variety of ways (including 'lucky tornado' - which suits my daughter rather well) but what i found most attractive about it is that both 'lust' and 'truelove' are possible ways of rendering the word in english.
folk who are over-zealous about their long guilt-ridden protestant traditions too often forget that 'lust' and 'truelove' are often alternate views of the same essential and empowering human truth.
of course, they can be different (even inimical) things. but in a perfect world they coincide.
