I'm a military spouse, and I know lots of soldiers who marry people from other countries. They have to get a fiancee visa for the person, and then after the marraige the person can start going through the process of becoming a citizen.

Only if he applies for a visa and green card and then he is only a nonresident alien. He has to apply for citizenship like everyone else. But he has a good chance if the child is born in the US
