I know I can make copies of my music for my personal use. This is a gray area: I would not be copying the sheet music I'm using, but I would be replicating someone's work in another form. If the issue is whether or not the composer/publisher gets money, my action could influence people not to pay money for audio recordings of the music by other musicians, but it could also influence them to buy the sheet music (I have a lot of musician friends).
