It has to be a particular kind of 'badness' to get my stamp of approval but some that are my favorites are 'Showgirls', 'Scarface', of course 'Plan 9 From Outer Space', 'Deep Blue Sea', 'Andy Warhol's Heat', just to name a few.
What criteria do you apply to your choices if you like bad movies? Which ones do you love because they are BAD?

bad movies are great because you get more fun out of making fun of them than good movies.....what about gigli or death clowns from outer space

I enjoy a really bad movie from time to time. Of course, it's best if the producers *know* it's a really bad movie and don't try to be anything else.
One of the best IMHO - "Bubba Hotep"
Elvis staged his own death and is living in a rest home in a small town. Also in the same rest home is JFK (played by a black man), who survived the assassination attempt and had a "race change" operation to cover his identity.
A bus transporting a sarcophagus to a museum had an accident near the home, thus releasing a life force sucking mummy. The story revolves around Elvis and JFK chasing said mummy.
A must see bad movie...

All of those movies are quite bad. But I know one which is worst than bad. Its gross, distasteful, cheap and utterly awful as hell. The movie was Pink Flamingos, directed by John Waters. Its soooo gross that it was given an X-rating in some countries. Near the end of the movie, you will see the main character Divine, an obese cross-dressing transvestite gobble up dog poo from the lawn. Just thinking of that scene makes me shiver. The first time I saw it, I lost my appetite for 2 days.
A recommended movie for all bad movie afficionados. These is the king of all bad movies.

Absolutely.
Some buddies and I would rent some movies, order pizza and have "Schlock Theater Night".
We specialized in horror movies, in particular the "Don't" movies.
As in, Don't Go Near the Woods, Don't Answer the Phone, you get the idea.
What a hoot.

They have to be funny bad. Here are two of the "worst" I have ever seen.
look them up on IMDB.com
Brother from Another Planet (self explanatory)
Breakin (movie about two break dancers from the "street" who hook up with a ballerina in a move to make breakdancing mainstream (from the eighties, it is my personal favorite))

I saw Freddy got Fingered and I became stupider just for watching it. I wish I had that hour and a half of my life back.

My brother and I found this one movie on AMC... "Swamp thing". Oh, my gosh, it was so dumb we couldn't stop laughing. Cheesy plot, cheesy special effects, '80's costumes, bad acting, the whole deal.
